Administrator/Receptionist

£19,385 pa + excellent benefits

Fixed term contract until 8 September 2020

Norwich

Closing date: 15 July 2019 at 11.30 pm

Are you a self-motivated individual with office administration experience? Then join Shelter as an Administrator/Receptionist and you could soon be providing the support we need to help us deliver an effective local service. Shelter Norwich operates a busy advice centre offering a range of interventions for people with housing and other issues.

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. Shelter is the UKs leading housing and homelessness charity campaigning and advocating -  with individuals, in communities, across society. We need talented, collaborative people who are passionate about our cause to join us and campaign for an end to the UKs housing crisis. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

About the role
Well rely on you to provide a variety of administration and reception support including providing a welcoming service to clients and visitors, answering the telephone, dealing with queries, photocopying, typing and scanning, handling the post etc. Youll also have responsibility for designing and developing office systems and processes, booking staff travel and accommodation, organising user involvement events and lots more besides. Helping front line staff with case administration, assisting the Service Manager with ad hoc projects and seeing that our office equipment is properly maintained all are aspects of this interesting, varied and vital role.

About you

Youll need proven experience of providing administrative support within a customer-facing environment and well also expect you to have good typing skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, email and the internet. A proactive and collaborative approach is important too, as is the ability to apply creative thinking and introduce new ideas and processes. And, when it comes to communicating with people at all levels and building great working relation ships, again, you have what it takes.

Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. Were here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
