This well-established provider of construction products is looking to expand their established team with the addition of an experienced trade counter / goods-in assistant. The successful candidate will carry out the following duties: • Provide a first-class customer service • Offer technical advice and assistance to the trade and public where possible • Assist in the achievement of sales and margin targets at the branch • Monitor stock levels within the trade shop and place orders accordingly • Handling cash and using PDQ machines, therefore good numerical skills for handling money • Due to the products the Company provide, some heavy lifting is required when assisting customers • Provide quotations and process customer orders • Receive incoming telephone calls handling customer enquiries • Liaising with other departments to ensure lines of communication are maintained • You may from time to time be required to undertake additional or other duties as is necessary to meet the needs of the business • Picking / packing duties in the warehouse • Cover goods in department / duties as and when required Skills / experience required: • Previous experience in a B2B, trade environment in a customer focussed sales/telesales role is essential • Demonstrable experience of goods in / stock control • Experience or knowledge of the construction industry would be a distinct advantage. • Highly motivated and possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Computer literate, and have the ability to pick up new IT systems quickly. • As this is a small team you will need to be a team player, flexible in your approach and happy to cover other departments as and when required • The Company would also consider someone who has experience within a goods-in / stock control environment who would be interested in progressing into the customer facing and trade counter role. Hours: 07.30 – 17.30 Monday to Friday and 1 in 3 Saturday. Remuneration: £17,000 - £24,000 depending on experience with quarterly sales bonus and onsite parking.
