We are continuing to recruit for a major Aerospace Polymers & Composites business, who have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join their team based in the Midlands, with support given to their Stevenage office.

In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work on two significant operational improvement projects that will deliver a step change in the business’ drive for operational excellence.

The role will manage multiple internal stakeholders (including Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Quality functions, etc.) to scope, coordinate, track and deliver our 100% OTD and Zero Defects initiatives for our aerospace product manufacture. You will have extensive experience of managing operational improvement/excellence activities in manufacturing environments, and be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering sustainable change initiatives and results as part of a structured and planned process. Previous exceptional project management experience, innovative problem solving combined with excellent organisational skills developed within a high performing team, is a must.

Preference will be given to those applicants who can demonstrate a working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, such as Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or Kaizen. It is desirable for you to have good financial acumen, strong influencing skills, a hands-on approach with excellent communication skills and previous experience of incorporating continuous improvement / business transformation into overall business strategy.

Outline of role:

* Be the focal point for the two ‘Blue Chip’ operational improvement projects for the business

* Deliver the projects on time, on quality and in budget

* Provide inputs to the Monthly Review, Business Reviews and other relevant business reviews and in line with the business lifecycle management process.

* Ensure strong links with other departments and stakeholders to deliver sustainable improvements

Requirements:

* Extensive experience of managing manufacturing business improvement initiatives.

* Should have good knowledge of managing projects and people both locally and remotely.

* Proven track record of delivering operational improvement projects under challenging timescales with cross-functional teams;

* 'Lead by example'

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in communication, delegation and motivation.

* To have good analytical skills to be able to challenge the core team constantly, achieving best value for the business
