JOB DESCRIPTION

Post: Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager

Location: Residential Units in 5 locations in SE London

Department: Head Office Team - Bromley

Responsible to: Business Manager (COO)

Hours: Part Time, Minimum 16 hours per week

Grade: 5 Point 25 (£13.00 ph)

Job Purpose:

Support senior management to:

* Ensure that service delivery is compliant with relevant legislation, standards and contractual requirements.

* Ensure that person centred approaches are developed and implemented across the company which place the needs of service users at the heart of Service delivery

* Achieve sustainable service improvement through the development and implementation of the performance management and quality assurance frameworks.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop implement and review effective mechanisms for monitoring performance in relation to quality and compliance ensuring that these include all key areas such as assessment and care planning, service user satisfaction, staff supervision, training and development.

2. Develop, implement and review effective and consistent systems for monitoring and recording health safety and welfare checks.

3. Keep up-to date with legislation, standards and contractual requirements, interpret relevance to business requirements and inform the Senior Management Team accordingly.

4. Develop and implement a system to ensure that policies and procedures are relevant, up to date and fully compliant with all legislative and contractual requirements and reflect best practice.

5. Be responsible for the central recording of safeguarding alerts and investigations, ensuring that outcomes are shared appropriately to improve service delivery

6. Be responsible for the central recording of formal complaints, or defaults and monitor the progress of investigations ensuring that outcomes are shared appropriately to improve service delivery.

7. Keep the Senior Management Team fully informed of all compliance and quality assurance issues in a timely and effective manner.

8. Be instrumental in communicating changes in legislative or contractual requirements, and policy or procedure changes to relevant managers and front-line staff, and ensure that this can be evidenced.

9. Support all Operational Managers in advising Service Managers on compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements and key performance indicators.

This includes sharing any information about any New Directions’ employee who they consider may pose a risk of harm to vulnerable adults in accordance with New Directions’ Safeguarding and Whistle Blowing Policies.

To ensure that client information data is lawfully gathered, accurate and up to date and only divulged in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the local government common law duty of confidentiality. Failure to apply these duties can lead to the individual or the Department facing court proceedings

This post is exempt from the provisions of Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 by virtue of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
