A bit about the business:

The client is an established and highly successful business, a key innovator and market leader in its field - the design and manufacture of a range of industrial products. The Company`s commitment to innovation and engineering creativity has shaped it into a world leader in its field.

Due to development expansion, we are looking to hire a HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER to join the Research & Development team, consisting of a team of 4.

What do you need to be successful:

- Proven experience in hardware design with expertise in layout techniques for both ANALOGUE AND DIGITAL microprocessor based embedded control systems
- ANALOGUE circuit design experience is ESSENTIAL
- Experience in mains voltage circuits would be seen as advantageous
- Have the ability to demonstrate strong fault-finding and analytical skills
- Preferably have a minimum of 3 years` experience of designing hardware for embedded control systems
- Suitable, relevant degree qualification - HND or Industry qualifications
- Structured mind along with a keen eye for detail
- Fabulous communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business
- Proactive with the ability to meet deadlines and provide real time support for existing hardware systems

Your responsibilities:

- Working in the R&D team to design, develop hardware solutions
- Full product lifecycle responsibility from initial concept through detailed design and development to release for manufacture
- Circuit level design including analogue, digital, microprocessor and mains voltage control circuits
- Schematic capture and PCB design
- Development and testing of prototype hardware to prove designs
- Identification and resolution of issues including ESD and EMI
- Provide technical support for existing and new hardware designs
