Experienced real world data scientist, statistics & modelling, global pharmaceutical company in Hertfordshire

Your new company
Is a global pharmaceutical company with a significant track record of innovation looking to add a number of people to their real world data & data science teams help drive forward their projects.
The company is making significant investment in this area and is offering excellent career progression.

Your new role
You will be involved in leading a number of projects within data science and analytics, all of which will involve working with pharmaceutical real world and patient data.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Hands-on analysis of large-scale, real world data sets including electronic medical records, patient data, clinical trials, and genomic / proteomic data;
  • Develop and implement strategies around data and study design, both for local and global initiatives;
  • Providing in-depth analysis of therapy areas / assets;
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams across multiple locations;
  • Presenting results to internal and external stakeholders, eg HTA and regulatory bodies; and
  • Project management.



What you'll need to succeed
As well as very strong communication, inter-personal and organisational skills, you should have:

  • An MSc, PhD (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative or data science discipline, eg statistics, maths, epidemiology, bioinformatics, health economics, computer science or similar;
  • Strong programming ability, ideally with Python, R or a similar language;
  • Project management experience, ideally within data science / analysis of patient-level data (eg, real world data, clinical trials, genomics or imaging / healthcare data, non-interventional studies);
  • Hands-on experience of working with large pharmaceutical / biological data sets;
  • A good understanding of advanced analytics and computational / data science approaches, eg multivariate modelling, linear regression, machine learning / deep learning, longitudinal analysis / cohort studies, etc; and
  • A track record within the pharmaceutical industry.

Candidates with experience of Shiny, Hadoop, Spark or parallel computing are at an advantage.
