Acorn Recruitment is proud to work in partnership with an organisation which is looking to transform blue light services.

This, a leading public-sector organisation is currently going through a large-scale digital transformation and has recently recruited a technically minded IT Director and a Head of Development with vast experience in streamlining and deploying new and innovative technologies.

Technology wise they are within the Java tech stack and are currently working with Java 8 with a road map to transition to Java 11 once released. They have embraced a DevOps agile culture, utilising cloud-based services using JavaScript technologies such as ReactJS on the front-end.

Our Client is looking to recruit a Java Engineer to join a highly specialist and experienced development team to drive the technical delivery of a customer-centric product roadmap. Working in a fully agile environment you will be exposed to greenfield projects using Java v8-11 (using functional features, persistence frameworks (Spring / Hibernate) and IDE's such as NetBeans / Eclipse. They have strong code pipeline, a continuous integration/CD delivery model, and better still a chance to make a difference to peoples lives.

To be successful you must be a have strong logical analysis and trouble-shooting skills and be methodical in your approach. Other key attributes are a proactive approach to solving problems as part of a team, and a focus on continuous improvement in all aspects of what we do.

Essential experience:

· Proven Experience of Development using Java stack (OO).

· Programming within Java Frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, Boot)

· Experience and understanding of Agile methodology.

Nice to Haves:

· Experience and understanding of DevOps / CI tools and practices (Jenkins / Selenium).

· Demonstrable knowledge of queueing technologies eg ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ.
