Do you hold an M.Sc in Statistics together with experience of working in the Pharmaceutical industry and with SAS?

Do you have previous industry experience of performing statistical analysis within the non-clinical area?

We are currently able to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Statistics and Data Management department, Huntingdon as a Senior Statistician. If making imaginative and creative contributions with worldwide visibility, introducing new methods and setting the standards for our statistical work sounds like a challenge you could rise to, this vacancy could be the job for you. The successful candidate will provide consultancy for scientists across a wide variety of areas, from toxicology, pathology to cell biology and biological assays. As well as carrying out data analysis, responsibilities will also include designing studies, reviewing protocols and communicating results to customers.

Job Responsibilities:

* Complying with UK and international GLP, GMP and GCP regulations as applicable

* Carrying out all types of statistical analysis using appropriate statistical methods and software, with minimal supervision, to the appropriate regulations (GxP). This may involve performing the statistical analysis for any study or data generated by the Company or acting as a consultant for customers

* Performing research into statistical methodology, keeping up to date with industry trends and ensuring consistency in the application of statistics at all Company sites

* Determining project priorities and keeping Head of Department informed on progress and any arising problems

* Assisting with the validation and testing of statistical software and applications, working closely with the developer of the application and providing them with statistical support as required

* Aiding in the preparation of documentation such as SOPs or statistical specifications

* Communicating statistical results in an effective way by means of Expert reports or other methods

* Assisting with the training of Company staff both within and outside the Department

* Ensuring customer queries and comments regarding statistical methods are answered clearly and effectively

* Reviewing work prepared by others in the team

* Identifying opportunities for continuous improvements and maximising productivity

* Assisting the Head of Department during regulatory or customer inspections/meetings

* Building relationships with key internal departments/staff to ensure their statistical needs are addressed

The skills and experience we’re looking for are:

* M.Sc. in Statistics or related subject or relevant industry experience of applying a large variety of statistical methods

* Competent in Microsoft Office

* Previous industry experience of performing statistical analysis within the non-clinical area

* In-depth knowledge and experience applying a wide range of statistical methods

* Proven ability to work within a team

* A thorough understanding and experience of using SAS

* Knowledge of other statistical packages is advantageous

* Understanding of the System Development Life Cycle process
