AICS Group is looking for Male support worker to work with our client who is in Potters Bar. PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Skills: •Minimum 6 months of experience and/or training in care preferably in working with adults or children who have brain injuries, both cognitive and physical injury •An understanding of the needs of adults or children with cognitive and physical impairment •Demonstrate ability to relate respectfully to people with physical disabilities •Good verbal and written communication skills •Ability to liaise with other professionals •Ability to work autonomously and productively as part of a team •The ability to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds •Skills in communicating with tact and sensitivity •The ability to remain calm under pressure Desirable Skills: •Current and clean drivers licence •Experience of providing care to people living in the community The ideal Support Workers should have experience in brain injury or support work. Our Client is a 23 year Old year Male who sustained a severe brain injury. We are looking for support worker to provide this therapy intervention. We anticipate the goals will include: • Gaining independence with the local bus routes, trains into London and using the tube independently (limitations assumed to be with geographical navigation, fatigue management and awareness of personal safety) • Our Client can manage all aspects of his personal care and running a home but will require support worker’s assistance to aid him in task initiation and task persistence. • He would like to attend a local community gym and his support worker would need to attend with him and work out with him, based on a PT routine. • He is looking to integrate into the Potters Bar community. He will need assistance to learn and participate in local volunteer, community and Headway groups • He will require support worker assistance for managing his weekly budget (provided to him by his Deputy), aid in impulse control and temper management in the community. Help him pace and manage his fatigue throughout the day, and provide companionship and provide support and aid him in his reasoning and thinking skills. We are looking for Male Support Workers who can work: Monday to Friday- 8Hrs a day Rewards what you get in addition: . Flexible working days . We provide Rehabilitation Support which ranges from social, physiotherapy, psychology and personal care programmes to support adults re-learn skills they may have lost as a result of an acquired brain injury.We are looking for people with excellent communication skills, motivation, initiative, flexibility and a genuine desire to support our service users to maximise their potential.This role provides immense job satisfaction within a busy and varied environment, working with a range of health and social care professionals.
