Application Support Analyst

Based in Hoddesdon, and reporting directly to the ICT Software Development Manager, this role requires an individual who is flexible, adaptable and focused on providing excellence in Application Support. Strong technical skills and the ability to think outside of the box to come up with solutions are a must. They will also have a strong ability to communicate well at all levels of the business. The ICT Applications Support Analyst will be responsible for Implementing, Maintaining & Supporting a wide range of Applications including HR & Finance. This role will be key in supporting Web Based Business Application Software on Windows Server technology and will include Database Administration using SQL. They will have a working knowledge of Windows Servers, and will be responsible for Running Scripts, Installing Software & Patches. They will also take ownership of queries pertaining to Business Applications and perform initial investigations & diagnosis through to fault resolution, primarily using business & process knowledge to understand and resolve. In addition they will be required to ensure that work is carried out promptly, efficiently and effectively and that documentation is completed where necessary.

Key tasks and responsibilities the job-holder has on an on-going basis:
Operational Support including End of Day and Start of Day processes, running daily and monthly reports
Delivering Support to Existing Business Users and Investigating & Resolving Application Errors, Data Issues & Queries
Provide Application Configuration & Maintenance on Business Facing Systems
Actively working on Identifying Application System Changes, Enhancements & Developments
Database Administration tasks on Support & Test Databases, including Back-Up & Restoring Databases etc
Working as part of a Project Team on New Implementations & System Upgrades
Document Work & Procedures by taking part in User Meetings & Assist in Presenting Issues & Solutions
Assist in Defining Acceptance Tests for New & Existing Automated Systems, Setting-Up UAT Environments
