My client, a successful engineering manufacturer is seeking a Workshop Assembler on a temporary to permanent contract.  The ideal candidate will have a good engineering aptitude and will be of a practical nature and work ethic, possessing previous experience manufacturing mechanical products. The main role will be assembling panels and associated products for motorsport garages. 

Main Duties include:

  • To assist with or complete the construction, production and assembly of assembly products using a variety of hand tools or power tools, complying at all times with defined practices and methods
  • To fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies with sufficient lead time to enable others to complete more complex products as scheduled
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager, to implement work schedules to ensure the timely completion of all sales orders
  • Ensure a high standard of quality production with continuous improvement, reporting any problems or potential problems to the Workshop Manager
  • Train to be able to carry out the maximum range of tasks, for which they are capable, within the workshop department
  • Comply with all aspects of the company's Health and Safety procedures at all times, ensuring any concerns are brought to the attention of the Workshop Manager without delay
  • Ensure that all defined personal protection equipment is utilised within the workshop or for the safe use of hand held tools e.g. hand routers, grinders, etc 

Summary of ideal key skills/experience:

  • Previous experience of manufacturing mechanical products
  • Experience in a similarly sized operation (20 to 30 in assembly)
  • Experienced with hand and power tools
  • Ease of commuting to Rackheath

Hours 8:30 to 5:00 Monday to Friday = 40 hours Typical is 8:00 to 6:00 with overtime at 1.5x after 40 hours in any week.
