The software development group has a vacancy for a motivated, hard-working team player to work within a small team assisting in the testing, quality assurance and support of Cefas Applied Technology-developed software, strategic databases and other applications.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Applied Technology (AT) group is growing its applications development support capability. The main duties will be to create, maintain and complete test plans, perform application testing and ensure common approaches are taken as well as supporting existing live software systems, including customer liaison and service call support. Current systems are being developed in C#.NET, VB.NET and SQL Server 2008-2014. You may also be involved in the development and delivery of customer training and system documentation. Current customer support hours are from 8:00 16:00 and you will be expected to support these hours as part of a team. Participation in out-of-hours support may be required. Due to the nature of this post some travelling, including overnight stays, may be necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Academic qualifications required for direct entry to this CEFAS Pay Band 4 post is a Computing or scientific HND or higher qualification or equivalent.

 

You must have previous experience of working as part of a team and well-developed interpersonal and communication skills which will be put to good use reviewing priorities and progress with customers. You must have the ability to work under pressure and be able to organise yourself to meet demanding deadlines.  You must be able to demonstrate the motivation to deliver high quality services and products to customers within agreed timescales and have a flexible approach to work.
