The Trustees and Governors of this Outstanding Academy are looking to appoint a Senior Childcare Officer. The successful candidate will be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character.  The academy is looking for people who have a variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.

Eaton Hall Specialist Academy is a residential SEMH Academy for boys from Year 1 through to Year 11. The multi-disciplinary team consists of Care Staff, Teachers and TAs who facilitate the Academys twin aims of re-integrating pupils into their home environment and when appropriate mainstream school.

The Academy runs a very strong staff support and development programme. The successful candidates will be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character.  The academy is looking for people who have a variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.

Senior Childcare Officers are a significant element of the leadership and management of Eaton Hall. A significant element of this post is leading and managing a team of talented Support Staff during the day and in the evening.  The role includes being a Case Co-ordinator for up to six pupils working closely with parents, carers and agencies to support social and educational outcomes. It is essential the applicant should have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prioritise his/her own workload in our busy working environment. 

The Senior Childcare Officer position requires staff to work three days per week (35 hours) and in addition one sleep-in duty of 7 hours.  In total the period worked each week is 42 hours. 

This position is permanent and are required for term time only plus 5 training days.The weeks worked are 39 weeks; therefore payment is pro rata over 12 equal monthly payments per year.

The successful applicants must be prepared to undergo any further training as requested by the Trust and will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore you will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations.

Our Academy is part of the sponsorship Trust, Rightforsuccess and the lead school of the Norwich Teaching School. It holds Investors in People and has a strong staff support and development programme.
