Transforming Care Services are currently working in partnership with a support provider who offer services to young people and adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and challenging behaviour across pockets of the UK. They are recruiting for additional permanent support workers due to an increase in pupil numbers and looking for passionate support workers to join their team.

If you have experience of supporting young people with autism, EBD, learning disabilities or challenging behaviour and you are looking for a new challenge then please apply. If you have your Level 3 in children and young people that is great but if you don't my client will support and enable you to enrol on the course after successful completion of your probation period.

The role itself is 42 hours per week on a rolling rota - 4 nights on and 4 off, which you will be given a long time in advance. You will be working in the residential home which is attached to a specialist school for young people on the autistic spectrum, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour. Roughly 20 of the pupils are residential clients and stay onside in a lovely service which support them 365 days per year. Support can range from prompting, managing challenging behaviour, support or providing personal care, providing person centred support and encouraging and promoting independence. Most of the young people in the service are staffed on a 121, 221 or 321 basis so you will always have plenty of support whilst on shift and be lead by a strong management team. A full induction will be given prior to working on shift plus additional and specific training.

To be considered for these roles you will need to have at least 6 months experience of working with young people with autism/challenging behaviour/mental health/EBD or a similar setting and be prepared to undertake your Level 3.

Salary ranges from £17603 (no Level 3) but then moves to £18171 after successful completion of probation (6 months). Once you then have your qualification it will increase to £18,935
