YMCA Trinity Group is a rapidly growing provider, specialising in providing accommodation and support.  We are recruiting Engagement Officers to work within our Accommodation team based in Ipswich.  Due to our continual growth we have vacancies within our Housing Related Support (HRS) team and the Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker (UASC) team.

The role will include key-working individuals, as well as engaging all of the young people who live within the projects and supporting them to develop socially, personally and spiritually in order that they may grow in confidence and independence.

You will be required to ensure that all residents receive an appropriate level of support and training according to their individual needs; and will assist residents to access education, employment, and training, voluntary work experience where applicable.

You will be required to interview potential residents/parents and support them to devise their own support plan (Pathway Plan). Through delivering life skills training you will give young people the skills and knowledge they need to move on to more independent accommodation and resettle them in their new home.

Experience working with a similar client group and an understanding of the needs and challenges these young people may be facing is essential. Experience of delivering group work sessions is desirable.

You will need a current knowledge of housing benefits and welfare benefits for young people and significant changes to housing law.

This role will include working evenings, weekends. Your own car with business insurance is an essential requirement.
