Horizon Search and Selection are currently seeking to appoint a Technical Sales Engineer within the inkjet industry, for our client based at their impressive facility in the West Midlands and will require extensive travel overseas.

 

The company are a multinational Imaging and electronics company and this position will be working from the site based in Telford, Shropshire. Primarily this site is responsible for the manufacture of eco-friendly and versatile wide format document centres and large format printers and professional printing solutions.

 

The purpose of this position is to take responsibility of pre-sales analysis and support associated with applicable inkjet printing solutions (hardware and software). The technical sales engineer with work with engineering and sales groups in order to understand customer requirements and design objectives. Also taking responsibility for successfully managing installations and assist OEM product evaluations by communication customer issues and potential solutions.

 

The role is a client facing, field support position located in the West Midlands but the territory for this role is Europe and the Middle East and will require extensive travel.

 

Acting as the primary technical resource for the field sales force, the technical sales engineer is also responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the Europe Sales team as a key technical advisor and product advocate for products. You must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction thought all stages of the sales process. The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships through the sales cycle is a must.

 

Other duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • To develop and deliver product demonstrations with support of the development team
  • Representing the product to customers at field events such as conferences and seminars
  • Be able to repond to functional and technical elements of requests for information and request for proposals
  • Have the ability to convey customer requirements to the companys Product Management Teams
  • Project manager customer driven integration projects
  • Work to ensure you are seen as an expert within the Inkjet field both internally and externally
  • Work in conjunction with related functional groups including internal groups in Europe and Japan
  • Where necessary you may be required to train fellow employees

 

This busy and important position within the company requires a candidate with the following skills and attributes:

  • BSc or BEng in a relevant scientific subject as a minimum
  • A proven ability to understand industrial printing environments
  • A deep understanding of technical sales
  • A basic technical understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Material and Colour Science
  • Excellent problem solving skills, selling to customer needs, presentation skills, verbal and written communication and requirements analysis
  • The ability to work autonomously with little guidance on the day-to-day
  • Comfortable with working on moderately complex to complex issues of broad scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
