I am currently looking to recruit a Electromechanical Assembly Technician to join my client based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

What will I be doing?

Responsible for the creation of electrical and mechanical subsystems from drawings, diagrams and verbal instruction. The work includes the creation of cable harnesses, prototype mechanical/electrical systems and sub-systems. In addition it includes running prototypes, performing tests and troubleshooting where required. On occasions may be required to transport items to test houses / suppliers etc.

* Creation of components, sub-systems and systems, both electrical and mechanical;

* Working from drawings, diagrams and verbal instructions;

* Ordering and obtaining parts, tooling and other resources as required to be in time for builds;

* Select, order and install instrumentation systems;

* Running prototypes and tests;

* Generating simple test reports and project documentation;

* Troubleshooting problems and making repairs where necessary;

* Maintain working area and running of test rigs in a safe condition;

* Keeping others informed of progress;

Minimum:

* An HND or above in a relevant Engineering discipline followed by experience in industry;

* Expert experience creating electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems including cable harnesses;

* Competent soldering to a high level of quality;

* Able to interpret block diagrams, schematics and mechanical drawings;

* Familiar with running prototypes and performing testing;

* Able to read and follow safety documentation such as safe systems of working and material safety data sheets (MSDS);

* The ability to work within a team on multiple projects, to prioritise tasks and to manage own time;

Preferred (in addition to minimum)

* Experienced in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems

* Experienced in making PCB repairs including soldering SMD components
