Lloyd recruitment services are pleased to be working with a leading organisation in East Grinstead. There is currently a requirement for a Caretaker to join the team on a permanent basis.

The role of caretaker will be to ensure the buildings are secure by undertaking opening and locking up duties in accordance with instructions from a senior member of staff.

Key responsibilities:

* Liaise with other members of staff to ensure room arrangements and equipment is set up in accordance with layout plans and information provided by hirers

* To provide a welcoming and a high quality service to hirers in respect of appearance of facilities and equipment. Assist in resolving any queries

* Undertake regular cleaning of the buildings on a rotational basis to be agreed with the Caretaker Supervisor. Ensure all cleaning is undertaken in a safe manner and that materials are used and stored in accordance with manufacturers and COSHH requirements

* Undertake regular inspections of the equipment used by hirers and ensuring all equipment including kitchen equipment, is clean and serviceable. Report any faults in equipment to the manager

* Undertake health and safety training as required ensuring safe working practices are adhered too

* Liaise with contractors undertaking works on the property and equipment

* Ensure they have access to required work areas and ensure correct health and safety precautions are in place to exclude public access to areas of work

* Assist with the fire evacuation of the buildings

* To undertake such other duties as may be requested by the manager

Key competencies and requirements:

* GCSE “C” in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications

* Previous experience of being a responsible key holder

* Experience of shift working

* Excellent verbal communication skills

* Ability to self-motivate and work alone

* Inter-personal skills

* Flexible and adaptable approach to work

* Excellent customer service skills with a “can do” attitude

* Ability to time manage and maintain orderly records

* Appreciation of health and safety, lifting and moving of objects and ladder work

* Physical ability to move furniture to set up and clear rooms

* To clean to a high standard

Training:

* First Aid, Manual Handling, Health and Safety, Ladder and COSHH.

* Willingness to attend training courses

The hours of work are 37 per week, Monday - Sunday on a rota basis to be agreed with the manager. There is one hour for lunch each day. The company will provide uniform and protective clothing (which is returnable on the cessation of employment)

Salary of £17,173 PA going up to £18,426 on the 1st April 2019
