Cromer Academy has an exciting opportunity for a teaching assistant to join our committed and hardworking team within our Specialist Resource Base (the Hub). Experience with, or secure knowledge of, ASD/autism is a key part of the job.

You will need the flexibility and experience to work with students of varying ages in both one-to-one and small group situations, as well as supporting the teacher in whole class lessons. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, follow the direction of the teachers, and take the initiative when necessary.

You will be an inspirational practitioner who is passionate about raising achievement through motivating and inspiring students, who will also contribute to the vision and values of the school. Candidates need to have a minimum of GCSE grade C for English and maths or equivalent. Experience of working with students with special educational needs would be of benefit, although training will be provided as necessary.

Cromer Academy is a community school in its truest sense: it is at the heart of the area it serves, and is ambitious and determined for its young people. The academy is in easy reach of some of the most spectacular beaches and countryside in the UK, but this is no sleepy rural school. Since joining the Trust we have seen results rise year on year; the academy has been rated Good by Ofsted with Outstanding ratings for leadership and management, and for personal development, behaviour and welfare.

We are part of the Inspiration Trust, twice ranked as the countrys top family of comprehensive schools for pupil progress to GCSE, and work closely with our fellow schools across the region. We are committed to offering excellent professional and learning opportunities for our staff.
