Salary: Band 5 £26,181 - £34,154 Salary per annum inclusive

 

Hours of work: 37.5 per week

 

Outline of job role and purpose

 

St Josephs Hospice has an exciting role on offer within the Volunteers Team to be part of a vibrant volunteer management programme underpinned with community development and coproduction principles.  We are seeking a skilled volunteer coordinator with volunteer management and/or community development experience who is able to manage multiple projects with volunteers across the hospice. You will be responsible for recruitment, training and support of volunteers, as well as coordinating our ward-volunteering offer, and take forward a number of smaller projects including engaging young people and those with disabilities in activities at the hospice. The role has a lot of scope for creativity and innovation but you also need to be able to balance the daily demands of a large volunteer cohort across the departments you work with. The person who would suit this role would be highly self-motivated, able to prioritise work effectively and be flexible to changing needs and circumstances. You will have proven project management skills, perhaps in the health or social care sector, experience of communicating with a diverse range of people, a problem-solver able to anticipate and resolve any issues in project delivery of your day-to-day work.  You will also have experience of facilitating groups, delivering training and be comfortable with public speaking.

 

You will need:

 

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills- youll enjoy working with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent organisation skills, able to prioritise work effectively
  • Experience of volunteer management/ community development principles
  • A can do attitude, able to take the initiative and be creative in problem solving and project delivery.
