Description: Administrator / Accounts Assistant - Spider are pleased to be supporting a Stowmarket based subscription agent supplying electronic and print based media resources to the Government and Education markets, and represents over 200 publishers. This Administrator / Accounts Assistant role is incredibly varied, directly supporting the Managing Director. Experience of working within a small busy office environment, together with a willingness to learn is essential.

The Administrator / Accounts Assistant key responsibilities are:

Administrative duties:

- Updating and maintaining subscription database
- Monitoring and responding to emails, or forwarding where appropriate
- Corresponding with publishers and clients via email
- Answering telephones and directing calls appropriately
- Taking accurate messages and ensuring they are forwarded appropriately
- Preparation of email mailings
- Complete all faxing and scanning requirements
- Monitoring of stationery levels and ordering as appropriate
- Handling of incoming and outgoing mail


Accounts duties:

- Entering sales and purchase orders
- Processing sales invoices
- Entering purchase Invoices
- Entering cash received
- Processing credit card payments
- Preparing BACs payment runs
- Month end statements


Skills and attributes required:

- Confident self-starter used to working as a team player in a busy environment
- Ability to organise own workload and adapt / prioritise as necessary
- Numeracy skills and attention to detail essential
- An excellent and confident telephone manner
- Strong administrative skills, particularly the ability to use Outlook, Word and Excel to a high standard
- Able to demonstrate a good standard of written and verbal communication
- Good command of the English language
- This role is 50% admin and 50% accounts orientated


This is a full-time role with working hours 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. On offer to the ideal candidate is a salary of £19,000 to £21,000 per annum dependent on experience. Own transport required as no public transport available - free parking.
