Housing & Benefits Apprentice

Salary: In line with National Living Wage (£15,106)

Hours and contract type: 37 hours per week, Fixed term contract (up to 2 years)

Location: Long Stratton, close to Norwich, NR15 2XE

As a Housing and Benefit apprentice you will be joining the team at a very exciting time. Two nationally high-profile changes have been implemented that will shape the future of the service; the implementation of the Homelessness Reduction Act and the roll-out of Universal Credit within South Norfolk

What youll be doing

  • With support and training, you will obtain the skills needed to have direct contact with customers either in the office, in their homes or within temporary accommodation.
  • Enabling residents to remain independent and thrive through supporting the delivering of an effective housing and benefits provision.
  • Providing an effective first contact for residents.
  • Undertaking a recognised housing qualification through the highly respected Chartered Institute of Housing. 

You must have

Five GCSEs pass grades A C including Maths and English (or equivalent), have excellent communication, customer service and IT skills. Be professional, outgoing and enjoy finding fresh ideas to interesting problems. You will also be eager to learn the practices behind housing and benefits and how their implementation can have a positive effect on people.
