Finance Apprentice (Revenue and Council Tax)

Salary and Hours: Salary will be paid in line with the Living Wage (£15,106), full time 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed term for 18 months 

Location: Long Stratton, close to Norwich, NR15 2XE

What you'll be doing...

  • Working within our Finance Team youll deal with all aspects of Council Tax billing and recovery
  • Respond to customer enquiries over the telephone, email, web enquiries and in writing
  • Assist customers making payments
  • Support colleagues attending the Magistrates Court when seeking to recover unpaid Council Tax & Business Rates debts
  • Study for the technician qualification with the professional body the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation (IRRV)

You must have...
GCSEs grade A C including Maths and English (or equivalent), a basic knowledge of the apprenticeship and be able to demonstrate an interest and enthusiasm for working within Finance and Local Taxation. You must have good organisational skills, supported by strong IT skills, and an eye for detail alongside the ability to work to tight deadlines. Strong customer service skills with an ability to demonstrate tact and empathy.

This role will require you to complete a fully funded training qualification and as such, you should be committed to achieving this. This apprenticeship will allow you to build a solid foundation in Local Government Finance.
