Full Job Description
At Stantec, we're a collaborative team of passionate engineers, driving innovation and excellence in everything we do. We place the communities we serve at the heart of our work and are committed to achieving our ambitious environmental targets.
As we move into a new AMP cycle, we are excited to have been selected by Northumbrian as a Strategic Technical Partner, providing technical enabling, solution delivery and design services.
As a result of this, along with multiple other successful framework bids across the UK & Ireland, we have an opportunity in our Newcastle Water Team for a Civil Engineer to get involved with our challenging & stimulating work. This role will allow you to tackle challenges head-on, whilst developing innovative solutions using cutting-edge practices, and leave a lasting impact on our communities.
Our Civil Engineers work across the project lifecycle in asset planning, strategy & design, contributing toward a variety of project sectors including clean water treatment and networks, wastewater treatment, wastewater networks, flooding, and urban drainage
You'll be responsible for the development of the civil engineering design, guided by our Project Technical Leads and Senior & Principal Engineers within the team, whilst collaborating with colleagues, external organisations, partners & stakeholders nationwide.
You'll hold a degree in Civil Engineering (or related subject) and be working toward Chartered status with a relevant professional body such as ICE or CIWEM.
You will also have a passion for the Water & Environment sector, with experience of delivering community focused projects and working collaboratively with project teams to develop innovative solutions. This experience will ideally have been achieved in the water industry working on wastewater infrastructure, sewer flooding & pollution projects, sustainable urban drainage and surface water management.
The Stantec community unites more than 31,000 employees working in over 450 locations across 6 continents. We have been working with our clients and communities in the UK for over 150 years. We plan, design, deliver and manage the development and infrastructure needed to support the creation of sustainable, healthy and prosperous communities.
Our teams provide effective and relevant solutions, translating our clients' vision into valued consents, deliverable plans for projects and programmes, and efficient designs for delivery, based on technical excellence and deep market insights. We deal with today's challenges, but also keep a fairer, better tomorrow in sight, looking at how we deliver clean growth, support radical changes in our economy and meet the needs of future communities.
Stantec provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants for future and current employment and prohibit discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. We prohibit discrimination in decisions concerning recruitment, hiring, referral, promotion, compensation, fringe benefits, job training, terminations or any other condition of employment. Stantec is in compliance with laws and regulations and ensures equitable opportunities in all aspects of employment.
Building an inspired, inclusive work environment that attracts, supports, and develops world-class talent is a crucial key to our success. If you are excited by this role but worry that your experience doesn't exactly align, we encourage you to apply.
At Stantec we are committed to ensuring our recruitment process is accessible to all. If you require reasonable adjustments to be made during the recruitment process then please inform a member of our Talent Acquisition team
