Full Job Description

Ensure staff receive clinical and line management supervision every six weeks in accordance with Trust policy

  • To ensure practice is delivered safely in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct, the policies and procedures of Pennine care NHS Foundation Trust, Mental Health Act (1983) and Community Care legislation.
  • To be a visible and proactive clinical leader and role model within the multidisciplinary team and actively participate in the delivery of clinical care on the ward.
  • To ensure that patients, their families and carers are directly involved in decisions which affect their care.
  • To maintain personal contact with patients, their relatives and carers. Being sensitive to their needs for respect, privacy and dignity and to act as a senior point of contact on the ward.
  • To initiate patient focussed interventions and developments, which reflect social, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • To ensure that high standards of record keeping, patient assessment, care planning, risk assessment and management are delivered on the ward in accordance with the Care Programme Approach.
  • To participate in programmes of audit activities required by the Acute Services Manager.

Moorside ward is an 18 bedded female ward for adults of working age. We cover the Heywood, Middleton, and Rochdale area, and we are part of Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust that provides mental health care of the Eastern and Northern part of the Greater Manchester region. The successful candidate must have previous experience in a clinical leadership role on an adult acute ward (minimum Band 6) for at least two years and must have the ability to effectively manage a clinical area.
