Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Complex Needs Team at the York and Scarborough Trust, for a Trainer delivering sessions around The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.. The Training Facilitator will be responsible for delivering the learning disability and autism training to Trust staff and commissioned partners.You will deliver this training alongside co-expert trainers.,

  • Role models exemplary behaviour in terms of conduct, attitude, performance, when delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism and The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism Trainers' Training.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively support and co-facilitate the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training with experts by experience.
  • Demonstrates best practice facilitating training.
  • Ensures all the learning outcomes are fully achieved.
  • Recognises and addresses the needs of individuals and the group prior to, during and after the session.
  • Appropriately challenges poor practice.
  • Keeps up to date with current and emerging thinking in health and social care practice, learning disability and autism, laws of consent (UK), The Mental Capacity Act 2005, The Human Rights Act 1998, The Autism Act 2009, Do Not Attempt Cardiovascular Resuscitation (DNACPR) case law, LeDeR and other associated data.
  • Identifies trends and issues, escalating and acting on these as appropriate.
  • Proactively reflects on own practice to improve performance.
  • Facilitate, deliver training agenda to time, trajectory and target.
  • Support the lead trainer to ensure the program and delivery is reviewed and audited in line with local policies and national program review.
  • Facilitate implementation of any research-based changes to national program and practice.
