We're recruiting a full-time Team Manager for our Disabled Children's Referral and Access Team. If you're ready to make a real difference, we want to hear from you. You will work alongside the Children with Disabilities Teams (0-18) and the Young Adults Team (18-25). You will also work closely with our in-house providers of short breaks, health and education professionals and a range of private and voluntary organisations. We pride ourselves on providing our Social Workers and alternatively qualified staff with a friendly, safe and supportive environment to work. As a Team Manager in the Disabled Childrens Referral & Access Team you will be vital in providing this. Practitioners in the Disabled Childrens Referral and Access Team really enjoy working in the team. You will be working 37 hours a week. This post will primarily be based out of Scott House in Huntingdon, but with the ability to work from home as part of a hybrid model., You're a qualified and experienced Social Worker with a strong track record of supporting children and young people. Your role will include allocating work, managing risk and ensuring the disabled children and young people of Cambridgeshire are supported by the right pathway, including through access to Short Breaks in line with the Local Offer, or by transferring cases to one of our longer term Disabled Childrens Social Work Teams. You will be a confident leader, with the ability to motivate the team to deliver high quality services in a busy environment. You will understand safeguarding and statutory guidance and best practice, you will manage risk well and have the ability to make timely decisions in complex situations. You will lead dedicated monthly case management supervisions and personal supervisions, with a strong focus on your teams' professional development and progression.     You will enjoy building relationships and work with us to support the most vulnerable children and young people in our county. Experience of partnership working is essential, as well as experience of delegating tasks and the ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.
  • You will be able to thrive in a fast-paced and busy environment, demonstrating resilience, good judgement and strong organisational skills. You will also bring a solid understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as well as proven safeguarding experience. You must:
  • Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of SEND legislation and processes
  • Have knowledge of statutory requirements and safeguarding
  • Have had supervisory experience
