Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to work at the forefront of innovation in Children's and Young Peoples Mental Health and to play an instrumental role in Hertfordshire. The team is a CYPMHS Tier 4 home treatment team (HTT) which offers an alternative to an in-patient admission. The service works with 13-18 year olds and is a multidisciplinary team who provide intensive support within the young persons home. The Team Leader will be responsible for the clinical and operational management of the team and provide leadership to the clinical team, in partnership with the CAMHS senior management, operational manager, consultant psychiatrists and lead clinicians on service planning, developments and evaluation., · To ensure effective assessment and provision of a high standard of care within the Home Treatment Team service · To act as a positive clinical lead and role model within the Home Treatment Team · To manage and develop the Home Treatment team who can meet the changing needs of the service user · To set and monitor care standards for the Home Treatment Team · To ensure the day to day running of the service area is maintained to a high standard. · The post holder will be required to work in collaboration with the operational manager to manage the service, to ensure to higher standards of practice and service delivery. The role will involve providing day to day management, leadership and supervision to the team. · The role will involve managing the team performance and meeting KPI targets, supporting team members to provide excellent treatment for our service users, working with the leadership team to ensure the service is continually under review and is reflecting and develop appropriately. · All staff should comply with the Trust's Anti-Discriminatory Statement, Employee Charter, Trust Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and Equality and Diversity., This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into their first management role or for an experienced manager who wishes to take a change in direction and who can take the service forward with enthusiasm and a passion for continuous quality improvement.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at band 6 or equivalent. The successful candidate will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A good knowledge of the Children Act and Mental Health Act
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively with a management structure, RN/RNLD/RNA
  • Degree with experience of post graduate level study or the equivalent experience
  • ENB 998/Mentorship
  • Evidence of management or leadership development
  • Registration with professional body, Management of staff in a multi- professional setting
  • Significant experience working at band 6 level.
  • Detailed awareness of issues in service areas - legislation, DoH guidance, NPSA, PLACE, CQC, NHSLA, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act including an understanding of standards
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision, appraisal, preceptorship and staff support methods.
  • Experience of working in care settings

  • Teaching/training experience
  • Knowledge in current developments in mental health, Dementia care, learning disabilities care., You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
