Full Job Description
Waking Night Carer in Oxshott, KT22. Join a small, friendly home-based team supporting Lily, a bright and engaging 5-year-old with complex medical needs. Up to £21.00 gross per hour.
- Nearest Station: Oxshott - 5-minute walk from the family home
- Salary/Wage: Waking nights: £20.00 weekdays / £21.00 weekends
- Driving Requirements: Strongly preferred
- Essential: Waking Night and childcare experience. Confidence supporting a young child with physical disabilities and equipment such as hoists (training provided)
- Desirable: Experience supporting children with additional or complex needs including suctioning, chest physio, PEG feeding, epilepsy, dystonia, postural management, medication administration and AAC/Eye Gaze communication
- Start Date: August 2026, with interviews and shadow shifts in June and July
- Days & Hours: Saturday waking night, 8.00pm-8.00am. Additional ad hoc waking night shifts may become available
- Pets in Home: One much-loved cat
- Accommodation Provided: Carer's office with comfortable chair and desk, plus access to kettle, coffee machine, microwave, fridge and snack cupboard
- Recruiter Contact: Sally Britton About this child/client: Lily, 5, is a determined and affectionate little girl with a great sense of humour. She loves cuddles, bubbles, swimming, bathtime, switch toys and social interaction. Lily communicates through Eye Gaze, vocalisations, facial expressions and body language. She has cerebral palsy with dystonia, epilepsy, PEG feeding needs, respiratory vulnerabilities, and visual and hearing impairments. Overview of role: This waking night role focuses on ensuring Lily remains safe, comfortable and well-supported overnight. Duties include close observation, repositioning, respiratory support, PEG feeds and medication administration as required. You will monitor Lily via an iPad monitor and follow clear care plans while working closely with her parents and wider support team. The role begins in August, with interviews and shadow shifts taking place in June and July.
