Full Job Description

1.Provide expert and evidence-based leadership on all aspects of safeguarding at Willen Hospice. 2.Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation, including corporate and commercial services, on the strategic development of safeguarding strategy and process in response to local, regional and national developments. 3.Implement and evaluate the safeguarding strategy across Willen Hospice services, analysing data to identify trends and respond to alerts, feedback and incidents which indicate specific learning and development needs in relation to safeguarding. 4. Align safeguarding strategy with consideration of the growing population of Milton Keynes and underserved groups, taking an inclusive and culturally sensitive and informed approach. 5. Contribute to and participate in audit and clinical governance activities and attend Clinical Governance meetings to ensure continuous service development and care quality improvement. 6. Provide safeguarding activity data as required,
contributing to KPIs and statistical information requested by Willens senior management and leadership teams, the Integrated Care Board and governance mechanisms including CQC. 7. Develop and present reports relating to safeguarding within and beyond the Hospice, as part of quality assurance and governance practises. 8.Develop and maintain of strong working relationships with Willen Hospice Social Care team, Milton Keynes Social Care services, the Milton Keynes University Hospital-based palliative care and safeguarding teams, community health and social care providers and system forums. 9.Represent of the Hospice to maximise the profile of Willen Hospice and bring best practice back to the organisation. 10. Maintain professional registration requirements, and currency relating to legislation and guidance related to safeguarding, including the Health and Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty, in order to advise the multidisciplinary team regarding the rights of patients
and carers, and to ensure effective implementation of the safeguarding strategy across the organisation. 11.Lead the development and implementation of policies and protocols in relation to safeguarding matters, such as mental capacity, deprivation of liberty and PREVENT. 12. Coordinate, deliver and evaluate training provision relating to safeguarding, mental capacity, deprivation of liberty and PREVENT.
