On Call commitment is essential to provide cover for emergency admissions, you will work as part of the on call team.
+ Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidence-based nursing care for a group of patients. Assist in and contribute to the management and organisation of a ward/clinical area
+ Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care
+ Actively participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
+ Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families
+ Act as a clinical and professional role model, mentoring, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area, Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

KEY RESULT AREAS
+ Delivery of effective health care within the organisation
+ Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' nursing needs and plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing healthcare needs.
+ Take responsibility for the care needs of individuals and groups of patients. Collect, collate and fully accurately report patient information, maintaining accurate, complete and contemporaneous nursing records.
+ Involve patients and carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of care.
+ Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure needs are met in relation to care input, support for ongoing care needs and safe discharge.
+ Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and carers/relatives.
+ Recognise, prioritise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
+ Establishing effective leadership and communication
+ Co-ordinate, organise and prioritise the work of the nursing team on a day-to-day basis.
+ Supervise others and participate in their education and development. Where appropriate, act as a mentor/expert witness.
+ Contribute to the development of services, new ways of working and the implementation of change.
+ Act as a professional and clinical role model to all staff, patients, carers and the public at all times.
+ Maintain effective and efficient communication with the Ward/Unit Manager and members of the multi-disciplinary team on issues related to patient care and organisation of nursing teams.

Interventional Cardiology is part of the wider Renal, Respiratory, Cardiac and Vascular management group (RRCV) at Glenfield Hospital (GH).
The campus has its own emergency ambulance bay and helipad, modern specialty theatres and intensive care units are also based on this site. GH campus is a regional centre for clinical research with both Respiratory and Cardiac Biomedical Research Units based here with close links with both the University of Leicester and De Montfort University.
Cardiac Cath Lab is an area where most of our procedures are under local anesthetic . This role is similar to theatre nursing with one to one patient contact with the opportunity to build a unique relationship with your patient and make a profound difference to their lives.
This is particularly relevant when you start to work on-call as you will be part of the team who regularly save lives with the emergency intervention service for Heart Attack and Out of Hospital Arrest patients

Full / Part Time (considered) & On Call commitment.
Working pattern 08:00 - 18:00 4 days a week, mainly with some Saturdays on a reduced rota., + A fully supported induction and training program which will last at least 12 weeks but will be tailored to the individual - (we do not ask for prior experience but acute care experience is an advantage).
+ When you work on-call you will be paid at Band 6 rate.
+ Regular in-house technical and clinical skills training sessions supported by industry.
+ The opportunity to train as an Interventional Cardiology scrub nurse
+ Experience of TAVI, Advanced EP studies and Coronary Intervention procedures

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.
The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.
The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
