Staff Bank Phlebotomist

We are seeking experienced and motivated Phlebotomists to join our Staff Bank to support GP practices across Cornwall. Working on a flexible, as-needed basis, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective blood sample collection services, contributing to timely diagnosis and ongoing patient care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within different practice settings, adapting to local systems and processes while maintaining high clinical standards.,

• Perform venepuncture in line with clinical guidelines and best practice
• Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and reassurance throughout procedures
• Confirm patient identity and obtain informed consent
• Label, store, and prepare samples accurately for laboratory testing
• Ensure samples are dispatched promptly in line with protocols
• Maintain accurate clinical records clinical systems
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
• Report clinical concerns or anomalies appropriately
• Work collaboratively with teams to support service delivery, Shifts are offered on an ad hoc basis depending on service need
• You will be expected to maintain mandatory training and competencies
  
  Recognised training/qualification in phlebotomy
• Previous experience in a primary care or similar setting
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different practice environments
• Experience using clinical systems
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Flexible and reliable approach to work
