Full Job Description

The appointed doctor will work with a large cohort of doctors, including Foundation Year 1 and 2, Internal Medicine Trainees years 1-3, ACCS ST1, GP ST1, Clinical Research Fellows, and consultants. The appointed doctor will be expected to practice Acute/General medicine to a high clinical standard. They will take on leadership responsibilities, particularly during out of hours shifts. They will provide support, training, and mentorship to more junior colleagues, and maintain patient safety above all else. They need to have skills in rapid decision-making, safe discharge planning, and multi-disciplinary teamworking. The doctor will be expected to engage with departmental clinical governance, and participate in the local teaching programme. They will report to the named Consultant of the day.
