Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

The Community Speech & Language Therapy team at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust works across the localities of Sefton and Liverpool, and we have a vacancy for Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapists based in Sefton.

This is a specialist post, working with a caseload of children and young people presenting with speech, language and communication needs. This post is based in the community; working in community clinics, special schools, nurseries and patients homes, and so there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to travel to, and between various locations throughout the week., We are looking for a therapist who wishes to further develop their clinical skills with children and young people presenting with speech, language and communication needs in community settings.

To work with the neighbourhood team to provide a high-quality speech and language therapy service to children in a variety of community settings including mainstream and specialist schools, nurseries and patients homes.

To provide specialist assessment of, advice, and a range of therapeutic interventions to children and young people with a variety of speech, language and communication difficulties.

To work collaboratively with other partner agencies and carers to enable them to understand the communication needs and to provide appropriate advice, support and intervention.
