An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiotherapist with a passion for Oncology to join our team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Our cancer services based at Charing Cross Hospital offers a unique opportunity to work in a leading specialist cancer centre. We offer the most up-to-date chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, which leads to one of the best survival rates in the country. In this specialist role, you will be providing high quality therapy to inpatients with cancer. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team including palliative care, neuro-oncology and respiratory therapists as part of the integrated physiotherapy and occupational therapy team.,

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including management of patients in your care and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To provide comprehensive and specialist therapy assessment and diagnosis for patients with a range of highly complex presentations, by utilising advanced clinical reasoning,evidence-based knowledge, investigative and analytical skills and specialist assessment techniques.
  • To plan and organise time efficiently and effectively with regard to patient management and use of time. To be accountable for the designated area of work.
  • To manage changes in service and staffing, both planned and unpredictable, and support and facilitate staff with caseload management.
  • As a lead member of the department, ensure teaching programmes and clinical education / supervision meet the needs of more junior staff's education and development to ensure that a specialist knowledge of intervention is acquired at all levels. To develop and conduct local in-service and MDT training.
  • Promote a culture of research awareness, research preparedness and activity in theteam.
