Be a part of it., This post is offered as a developmental opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with any experience/passion in rehabilitation, physical disability, stroke, neurological or complex care settings who wishes to progress towards a highly specialist Band 7 Neurological Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist role. Subject to successful achievement of agreed competencies, supervision milestones and service development objectives, there is the potential to progress to Band 7 within an anticipated 18-24 month timeframe. The successful candidate will receive a structured development programme including:
- Enhanced clinical supervision from an experienced neurorehabilitation Occupational Therapist.
- Access to specialist training in neurological rehabilitation.
- Development in therapeutic handling
- Formal training in assessment and intervention for prolonged disorders of consciousness (PDoC).
- Opportunities to work alongside experienced physiotherapy colleagues within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation model.
- Leadership and service development experience to support progression into a specialist Band 7 role. We are looking for an ambitious Occupational Therapist who is passionate about service development, clinical leadership, and delivering meaningful rehabilitation outcomes for individuals with complex neurological needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and influence the future direction of occupational therapy within the service, alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team and wider national occupational therapy directorate. The Daley Care Centre (Sheffield, S36 2QE) The Daley Care Centre is a specialist Neurological Complex Care service in Sheffield, dedicated to supporting individuals with high nursing needs, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and complex neurological conditions. Our dedicated team of Registered Nurses, Support Workers, and in-house therapists work together to deliver comprehensive care and support with measurable outcomes. We support patients with
- Severe or moderate Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
- Other neurological conditions, stroke, and spinal injuries
- Early or late post-injury, long-term, short-term, respite, and lifelong care
- Tracheostomy and ventilator care
- Can support individuals with some complex needs and behaviours (assessed on an individual basis) The home features 24 spacious bedrooms, which the people we care for are encouraged to personalise, each with its own en-suite wet room. The centre has been recently refurbished with excellent on-site facilities, including a fully equipped modern gym for physiotherapy and occupational therapy sessions, an Independent Living Skills Kitchen to promote functional independence, and numerous dedicated therapy rooms. The Daley Care Centre is located in the beautiful, tranquil countryside setting of Deepcar just 10 minutes outside of Sheffield city centre. It provides a warm, homely setting with all of the on-site equipment and facilities needed to offer complex medical care to individuals with a wide range of conditions We ensure person-centred outcomes are maximised through inter-disciplinary working, whilst keeping the individual at the heart of their discharge planning. There is a dedicated clinical team who provide multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapists, and nursing staff. Occupational Therapy Directorate Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 185 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development. Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
