Full Job Description

We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our friendly kitchen brigade at The Terrace Restaurant. Under the guidance of Executive Head Chef, Alistair Craig, this is a superb opportunity for an imaginative, detail-orientated chef to be part of an innovative kitchen, with the creative freedom to provide input into developing exciting new dishes.

As a proactive, hands-on chef you will have the skills to manage, motivate and develop the team through effective communication, problem-solving and collaboration. In line with our focus on sustainability and responsible-sourcing, you will build strong relationships with local producers and help develop aspects such as foraging, in-house butchery and our range of homemade jams and breads.

  • have minimum of Junior Sous experience in a rosette or Michelin star restaurant

  • have the ambition and drive to set the bar higher

  • have impeccable food safety/health & safety standards

  • be organised but flexible to change and last minute adjustments

  • be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of classic and technical cooking methods

  • be a positive team player, If you have relevant experience in a professional kitchen, are keen to further your career and are passionate about delivering high standards of service (and just as importantly, incredible standards of food preparation and presentation) then this might be the role for you., Sous Chef: 1 year (required)

The Terrace offers guests 3AA Rosette fine dining cuisine with a menu inspired by the splendid natural larder of the New Forest, and includes spectacular produce straight from the restaurant's organic kitchen garden as well as the neighbouring coastal counties of Hampshire and Dorset.
