Full Job Description

We are working closely with local authority in Liverpool to assist with the appointment of a Social Worker, on a 2.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Social Worker (Social Care) within the CASS / MASH Family Help Team is responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and families by delivering high-quality assessments, interventions, and family support services. Working within a multi-agency environment, the postholder will assess referrals, identify risks and needs, and coordinate appropriate support to ensure children and families receive timely and effective interventions.,

  • Undertake assessments of children, young people, and families referred to the CASS / MASH Family Help Team to identify risks, strengths, needs, and appropriate interventions.
  • Assess safeguarding concerns and identify levels of risk to ensure children are protected from harm, abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Provide support and guidance to families to improve parenting capacity, family stability, and outcomes for children.
  • Ensure all practice is child-centred, strengths-based, anti-discriminatory, and promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Participate in supervision, training, reflective practice, and continuous professional development activities.

    Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work (BA, BSc, MA, or Diploma in Social Work).
  • Registration with the Social Work England.
  • Essentials:
  • Post-qualification experience working as a qualified Social Worker within children's social care, safeguarding, early help, or family support services.
  • Proven experience undertaking child and family assessments, safeguarding interventions, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and statutory frameworks relating to children and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and frameworks including the Children Act 1989, Children Act 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Early Help principles.
