Full Job Description
This role sits within Supply Chain Operations (SCO), an area of the business which supplies and delivers the logistics, materials, components, rail and road fleet that enable the maintenance and renewal of the railway.
SCO keeps the materials, machinery and components required by its customers moving making sure they are on-site when needed so work can go ahead as planned and on schedule.
About the role (External)
The Wessex Rail Delivery team are part of a wider 24-person team that plan and deliver Supply Chain Operations services for the Southern region. You will manage the supply chain operations services delivery against an agreed work bank with supplier and customer engagement.
This includes working closely with the Wessex route stakeholders and with our external delivery partners to support and deliver the renewal, enhancement and maintenance programme.
The key responsibility of this role is the delivery of the Wessex rail haulage plan, the Service Delivery Manager will manage a team of four that takes on the Wessex haulage plan after initial agreement and sees that plan through to delivery.
The role is based near St Pauls at our Puddledock London office.
Key Accountabilities
1. Manage the supply chain operations delivery and assurance requirements for an agreed work bank.
2. Manage customers and suppliers to drive safe and efficient services.
3. Review, assess and manage the impact of change to the work bank and agree outcome with customer.
4. Manage resource conflicts or delivery constraints through to resolution.
5. Lead for performance failures to establish base cause and identify actions.
6. Identify opportunities for improvement initiatives through to implementation.
7. Manage the flow of accurate performance and contractual data to enable management of specified contracts.

Knowledge of relevant railway geography and network capability.
Knowledge of relevant train services and network capacity.
Able to specify all aspects of worksite and possession parameters.
Able to plan routing of supply chain services to and from possessions
Able to time manage and prioritise the demands within a continuous planning process.
Able to evaluate complex factors and make decisions to maximise benefit to Network Rail.
Good communication skills.
Able to understand the teams contribution and create a safe environment to deliver a safe service.
Able to operate planning systems

Knowledge of Group Standards applicable to possession train delivery
Experience of investigation and report writing, Personal Track Safety (PTS) is a set of safety regulations and procedures that individuals must adhere to when working on or near the tracks of the UK rail network.
Hours: up to 35 hours per week with hybrid working and travel as required. Flexible working and job shares can be considered.
Salary range: £46,701 to £53,589 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
