This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer to join our work force and be part of a friendly and patient focused Radiotherapy Team. The Deanesly Centre, based at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, is a paperlite radiotherapy facility equipped with four Elekta HD Linear Accelerators and has a fully integrated Mosaiq network. The department is innovative and has developed the service it delivers to embrace new technology, offering IMRT, VMAT, DIBH (voluntary breath hold and using Elekta ABC), IGRT, SABR, 4DCT/4DCBCT and gynaecological Brachytherapy. This offers plenty of learning and development opportunities for all staff members. The team includes our dedicated booking team, support workers, assistant practitioners, therapeutic radiographers, advanced practitioners and Consultant Therapeutic radiographers, and provides a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your career with us., Applicants would be expected to:

  • Be responsible for the accurate preparation, planning and delivery of treatment by self and all members of the relevant team.
  • Organise and supervise the work schedules and patient management on a Linear Accelerator or CT Simulator on a daily basis.
  • Assist the Superintendent Radiographers in the daily management of the professional, efficient and effective provision of high quality care.
  • Comply with all Trust and Departmental Policies, procedures and protocols, commenting and suggesting changes as necessary.
  • Use 2D, 3D and 4D treatment verification imaging devices and associated software to ensure accurate delivery of radiotherapy treatments, analysing and approving planning/verification images under protocol.
  • Act as a role model for the team of radiographers and students.
  • Ensure a patient centred approach to the radiotherapy service.
  • Support other staff in Continuous Professional Development programmes.

    Applicants must have substantial clinical experience within Radiotherapy, be adaptable to support service needs and able to communicate effectively with all members of the Oncology team.
