Are you passionate about using data, systems, and innovation to solve complex operational challenges? Join us as a Senior Technical Distribution Analyst and lead the development and improvement of the critical systems that power global exam distribution-making a real impact on millions of learners worldwide. We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge. About the role Working within a small, close-knit team of specialists, this role sits at the intersection of business process expertise and technical innovation-playing a key part in strengthening the systems that underpin global exam delivery. You will lead on the continuous improvement, maintenance and implementation of critical operational systems, ensuring they remain reliable, efficient, and fit for purpose across Group Print & Operations. A core focus of the role is driving smart process improvements through the use of automation tools such as Power Automate, PowerApps and other M365 technologies. Alongside this, you'll provide hands-on system support and act as the first point of contact for operational teams, resolving issues and collaborating with technical partners to deliver effective solutions. Beyond delivery, you will act as a trusted consultant to the wider organisation-offering expert insight, guidance and leadership on systems and process improvements. With a broad and varied scope, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact by simplifying ways of working, improving efficiency, and enabling others to perform at their best. In instances where interviewing all qualifying candidates is not practicable and/or appropriate, we prioritise those who best meet the minimum criteria, as we would for applicants who do not have a disability or long-term health condition.

You'll bring a strong blend of technical capability and business process understanding, with the confidence to lead system improvements and support operational teams in a fast-paced environment. You're experienced in working with data, systems and automation tools, and can translate business needs into practical, efficient technical solutions. You're also a clear communicator who builds strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You're naturally curious and solution-focused, with a proactive approach to improving processes and system performance. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, you manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes. You take a structured approach to problem solving-analysing issues, implementing improvements, and supporting the successful delivery of change initiatives. In addition, you will bring:

  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (such as Lean Six Sigma) or experience driving operational efficiencies
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience supporting or maintaining operational systems, including troubleshooting and identifying root causes
