Are you a data analyst who has worked with large and complex datasets to inform policy and practice? Are you looking to take ona proactive role, where you can lead on developing innovative approaches to how data and analysis is used to improve health in Wales?
Here in the Data Science and Analysis Division we combine advanced analytical expertise with a deep understanding of public health to deliver meaningful, actionable insights about the health of Wales. You will be joining at a pivotal time, as we strengthen our organisation's strategic use of data to inform decision-making. You will also contribute to building and shaping a growing team and function focused on delivering high-impact public health intelligence services.
In this role you will work collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners to lead the development of innovative analytical approaches and projects. You will lead work programmes which support colleagues across the organisation to use data and analysis for prioritisation, policy modelling, and monitoring and evaluating impact. You will also contribute to analysis to understand recent trends in the health of Wales, including developing and communicating outputs to senior decision-makers., As a senioranalyst, your role will be wide-ranging and demand a broad set of skills. You will lead important projects, working proactively and independently to deliver high-quality outputs.You willengage and collaboratewith a range of internal and external stakeholders,negotiating priorities and translating analytical insights into meaningful, actionable messages. You will apply your technical expertise andcommunication skillsto the development of quality-assuredanalysis projectsthat meet our users' needs.Projects you may contribute to include analysis to understand recent trends in healthy life expectancy in Wales,andmodellingof policies to improve mental health such as social prescribing.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
