Full Job Description
The Medical Engineering Department provides a comprehensive medical equipment management service, including installation, maintenance, testing, and disposal. The post holder will undertake acceptance testing, electrical safety testing, planned preventive maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of medical equipment. Working independently and in accordance with departmental procedures, the successful candidate will use their technical expertise to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. The role also involves travelling between sites to carry out maintenance and support services., The post holder will be responsible for the testing, maintenance, repair and fault diagnosis of a wide range of complex medical equipment, including patient-connected devices, across community sites. Working independently, they will plan and prioritise workloads, respond to equipment failures, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations, Department of Health guidance and manufacturer recommendations.
The role includes maintaining accurate maintenance and safety records, supporting the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, managing spare parts and equipment assets, and providing technical advice to clinical staff. The successful candidate will contribute to service improvement initiatives, training activities, and the delivery of a high-quality, patient-focused Medical Engineering service.
