Full Job Description
This is a fixed term post in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with effect as soon as possible., This is a fixed term post in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with effect as soon as possible.This post attracts overseas doctors with experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to familiarise themselves with the UK system and preparing for their exams whilst working in the UK.The post offers registrars with an opportunity to consolidate their training in High risk Obstetrics with particular interest in maternity triage, Obstetric day unit, be aware of the referral pathway and antenatal patient management. The successful applicant will receive training in the management of acute Obstetrics and medical conditions in pregnant women. In addition, he/she will be taking part in a variety of obstetrics and gynaecology activities including gynaecology on-call, theatre activities for both Obstetrics and gynaecology, antenatal and gynaecology clinics. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain the local database and take part in research activity., General ResponsibilitiesThe duties under consultant supervision include the following -1. Taking part in regular Obstetric tirage sessions alongside other registrars 2. Coordinate and management of the patients seen in maternity triage and Day unit with agreed management plans with the duty consultant3. Participate on the on call rota with Gynaecology cover.4. Attending main theatre and day surgery and performing procedures under consultant supervision5. Scan reviews and formalizing management plan6. Engage in research activities, either existing or candidates own research., 1. The clinician is involved in teaching junior staff, nurses and medical students.2. The Registrar will assist with organisation of Departmental meetings and presenting cases.3. There are facilities available for research.
