About this Role
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join our warm and inclusive team within our Specialist Resourced Provision. Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals, you will play an important role in creating a consistent and nurturing environment in which the children can thrive. You will be supporting children to engage in lessons both within the SRP and their mainstream classes and be proactive in supporting independent learning, confidence and wellbeing.
Hours would be Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 3.00pm with a 1 hour SEN meeting after school every other week, + 1 hour each week to run an after school club.
We are a large, popular primary school with 650 children on roll aged 2 - 11 including a Special Resourced Provision for children with SLCN. We require a caring, highly motivated and dedicated practitioner who is able to demonstrate consistently high standards. They will have skills of empathy, listening, and excellent communication skills and be able to respond with appropriate language to build a rapport with children, carers and colleagues.
The successful candidate will have some previous experience of working with children who have SLCN. They will also have an understanding of how children learn most effectively, be a team player with good interpersonal skills, and be committed to high standards of behaviour and achievement. Some experience of using signalong is preferred, although training will be available.
