Sefton Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Team Manager to join our Court Advisory Team within the Qualified Social Work field. This pivotal role will involve supporting the Team Manager in overseeing social work practice, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, and promoting the welfare of children and families. You will play a key role in managing a team of social workers, providing guidance, supervision, and support to enhance their professional development and practice. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Team Manager in the operational management of the Court Advisory Team.
  • Supervising and mentoring social workers, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice standards.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures.
  • Participating in case reviews and multi-agency meetings to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Monitoring and evaluating team performance and outcomes, providing reports as necessary.

    To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in social work, particularly within a court advisory or child protection context.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
