Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of car dealerships throughout the United Kingdom. We are currently looking for a Dealer Oversight & Compliance Controls Officer to join us on a permanent basis working within the Regulatory Engagement and Reporting team. In this role you will contribute to second-line oversight activity across SCUK's intermediary network - including dealers, brokers and introducers. You will focus on supporting the delivery of Line 2 assurance activities that assess the effectiveness of first-line controls, promote regulatory alignment, and drive good customer outcomes in line with the company's conduct standards and Consumer Duty expectations. You will support your manager with intermediary oversight reviews, MI production, and day-to-day delivery of the assurance plan. This role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.,
- Supporting delivery of second-line assurance reviews across intermediary oversight activity
- Contributing to the assessment of controls designed to manage dealer/broker risk
- Performing control testing, data gathering and documentation of outcomes as part of Line 2 review activity
- Assisting with monitoring the effectiveness of onboarding, ongoing oversight, and exit processes
- Supporting identification and escalation of risks/control weaknesses to the Manager
- Contributing to the documentation and tracking of actions arising from reviews or external audit
- Working within established frameworks to ensure accuracy, fairness and regulatory alignment
- Maintaining awareness of FCA expectations (e.g. Consumer Duty, PRIN, SYSC, CONC)
- Cross team collaboration, sharing learning and best practices in order to contribute to overall team effectiveness, ensuring solutions are appropriate
- Supporting oversight reviews that assess how intermediary activity affects customer outcomes
- Ensuring customer treatment is assessed fairly during second-line control reviews
- Escalating risks or issues where customer harm could occur as a result of intermediary activity
- Contributing to Line 2 efforts to improve quality of customer-facing intermediary oversight
- Helping identify customer experience trends through data, MI, and assurance activity
- Maintaining a strong customer lens in day-to-day work, in line with Consumer Duty
- Providing accurate, timely support to the assurance plan across intermediary activity
- Support the creation, development, and presentation of MI dashboards and reports to relevant forums (e.g. DOSC)
- Manipulating, analysing, & summarising data sets to support assurance/oversight activity
- Maintaining accurate records of review outcomes, actions, and observations
- Assisting in identifying trends or data insights that can improve intermediary oversight and customer outcomes
- Demonstrate awareness of how regulatory conduct risks link to business activity
Previous Regulatory work experience and/or Non-Financial Risk experience - A qualification in Non-Financial Risk and/or Compliance qualification
- The ability to handle and interpret structured data through Microsoft Excel to support assurance and MI reporting, and use other tools for data manipulation and insight generation
- Strong all round MS Office skills, including advanced skills in MS PowerPoint
- Confidence to present at important committee meetings
- A good understanding of the UK financial services industry, particularly motor finance and intermediary oversight
- Awareness of FCA regulatory frameworks including CONC, SYSC, PRIN and Consumer Duty
- Experience or familiarity with second-line monitoring, assurance, or controls testing
- Clear written communication skills to document findings, produce evidence packs and contribute to internal reporting
- Awareness of intermediary risks across the dealer lifecycle (onboarding, oversight, exit), and who can demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in delivering reviews or control activities
- Understanding of risk and control frameworks, and their role in effective oversight
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across the function, and wider business
- Strong interpersonal, and influencing skills
- Ability to plan and organise own time within objectives
A competitive salary of £40,000- £44,000 (dependent on skills & experience) - 27 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays
