Full Job Description

The School require an experienced instructor to manage the smooth running and expansion of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF). Applicants must have served recently as an Officer/SNCO in the Armed Forces or be an active member or leader of a CCF or ACF (or tri-Service equivalent). The successful candidate will:

  • Manage the smooth running and expansion of the CCF
  • Organise and plan experiences to enhance the Cadet provision.
  • Plan and deliver the Cadet training programme.
  • Be responsible for the general administration of the Cadet Unit, 1. To act as administrator for cadets and contingent Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) and to supply and organise all CCF services, including the issue, control, maintenance and purchasing of clothing and equipment.
  • 2. To carry out all day to day liaisons with the Cadet Training Team (CCT) and other agencies as necessary. 3. To ensure the maintenance and presentation of all CCF and School Adventurous Training equipment. 4. To take responsibility (in liaison with the CCF Contingent Commander) for all issues related to weapons, including all weapon inspections, repairs in line with MOD requirements and an agreed maintenance plan, including the security of fire arms. 5. To collate all required returns to the MOD including equipment, qualifications, controls and records of all weapon loans to other schools. 6. To take responsibility for all equipment held at the school; provide the MOD with information as required. 7. To maintain an awareness and knowledge of MOD amendments, advice and document control. 8. To undertake the training and instruction of all staff and cadets in military matters including mandatory safety tests, act as advisor to all and immediate support to the Contingent Commander. 9. To run, organise and administer all camps and training programmes (as detailed by the Contingent Commander). 10. To assist the Contingent Commander and other CFAVs with the effective use of the Westminster Management Information System (MIS). 11. To manage, administer and organise competitions. 12. To maintain the Cadet training records. 13. To take responsibility for the daily control and management of the Cadet equipment. 14. To develop, organise, manage and administer CCF activity. General 1.     Hours of work: An average of 3 days per week, term-time Only (34 weeks). However, some flexibility will be required as additional hours will be worked to cover the annual camp (which happens at the beginning of the summer holiday), firearm inspections should they happen in the holidays and occasional days leading up to the start of and at the end of term. This will include evenings, overnight stays and weekend working.Salary: £13,378 p.a. - additional daily allowances may be available from the MOD where appropriate.
