Full Job Description
You will be part of the North West & Central Region (NW&C) which consist of three routes North West, Central and West Coast South and a regional team supporting Regional Major Programmes & Professional services.Brief Description Undertake the day to day activities to enable the defined road vehicles to be operated in a safe and compliant manner in relation to legislative, manufacturer and Network Rail standards. Deliver the required support functions to Network Rails drivers assigned to the central fleet. The role can also include the ability to deliver training and briefing sessions on road vehicle fleet subjects as well as carrying out good vehicle operator licence audits, across NW&C locations. The successful candidate can be based from either Birmingham or Manchester.About the role (External) 1. Deliver the required day to day operations of Network Rails Road Fleet Management activities relating to delivering a safe and compliant fleet. These include MOT and safety inspections, servicing, modifications, speeding and parking notices, and customer queries. 2. Deliver the required support to maintain a safe and compliant defined road fleet in line with current legislation. 3. Support the building of and then sustain effective relationships with customers and suppliers, liaising with the Road Fleet Commercial team to improve operations and support the delivery of supplier KPIs. 4. Deliver the required support functions to Network Rails drivers assigned to the central fleet relating to driver training, fuel card, insurance, servicing and short term hire arrangements as well as other numerous other services 5. Support the Senior Delivery Manager in suggesting and assisting in the implementation of quality and efficiency improvements by staying current with legislation changes and improvements in vehicle technology and development. 6. Provide data and reporting as required on both vehicles and drivers on a periodic and ad hoc basis. 7. Support enquiries relating to the Vehicle Tracking System and providing support for route colleagues investigating speeding events in line with the data governance policy.
