Full Job Description

Bromsgrove Domestic Appliances and Chapmans Electrical, established electrical retailers, seek to recruit a pro-active individual seeking a role in retail sales.


The successful candidate will offer strong customer service, communication and sales administration skills, along with an ability to build product knowledge. Selling experience and an understanding of Consumer Electronics is desirable, but not essential. The role requires working across both stores in Bromsgrove and Cradley Heath on a rota basis.


Salary circa £25k (pro rata) based on 4 / 5 days, to be agreed, but including Saturdays.


Job Purpose


To work across both of our branches at Bromsgrove and Cradley Heath to deliver outstanding customer service whist maximising sales. To continually develop your knowledge so as to contribute towards overall effectiveness and performance levels.


Role and Responsibilities


  • Effective communication of information to the customer / client base involved in receiving our service.
  • Answer customer calls and queries received on various platforms.
  • Undertake non- sales activities to support the wider team's sales activities; for example, displays, stock display and checks.
  • Operate Company bespoke IT systems.
  • Taking Payments and handling cash.
  • Obtain a good knowledge of company systems, procedures and execute correctly.
  • Have the desire to develop a personal development plan, whilst adhering to company values and principles.
  • Willing to go "the extra mile" to maintain the highest level of customer service and professionalism at all times.

Essential Skills


  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate with customers.
  • Basic Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to obtain and hold product knowledge.
  • A proactive team approach on all aspects of the work to tackle problems and offer solutions.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
